Why this exists
Most car deals happen in the wrong order.
When a car changes hands, everybody in the conversation has a reason to want a particular number. And nobody neutral has looked at the car.
The usual way
- Someone gives you a good number, "subject to viewing".
- Then they look at the car.
- The number moves. It nearly always moves down.
The B4U way
- An independent inspection, by someone who isn't buying or selling.
- Offers are made against that report.
- You decide, with everything already on the table.
It isn't about bad people. It's the order things happen in.
Buying a used car
Found a car? Have it looked at by someone with no stake in it.
Something on Marketplace, or on a lot you don't know? Book The 120+ Point Check on that exact car. On that inspection, we work for you, not the seller.
What you get
- Ten document and identity checks come first. If one doesn't match, the inspection stops there and you're told why.
- More than 120 checks across the car, each one graded and recorded.
- Paint-depth readings panel by panel, so filler and respray show up as numbers, not opinions.
- Every critical point photographed.
- A first page written for someone with no car vocabulary, and the detail behind it.
Prices will be published here before the first inspection in January.
Selling your car
Change the conversation from “what will you give me?” to “here is what it is.”
We inspect your car before anyone makes an offer, so every offer is made against the report and not against a photograph. Your inspection fee also lists it for 3 days, where only vetted dealers and vetted private buyers can see it. Nothing is publicly advertised and your details are never published. You decide who buys the car, and you know who they are before they arrive.
How it works
- We inspect your car where it's parked. The report is yours, whatever happens next.
- Your car is listed for 3 days. Vetted dealers and vetted private buyers make their offers against the report.
- Every private buyer registers before they can make an offer. They pay a registration fee, we check their identity against Home Affairs, and they commit R2,000 to each offer they make.
- You see the best offers and choose one. Or none.
- Not sold after 3 days? You can keep it listed for another 4 days at no extra cost.
An offer made from a photograph is an opening position, and it moves when they finally see the car. Offers here are made after the inspection, so unless the car isn't what the report says, nobody gets to find a "new problem" at your front door. Full terms and prices before launch.
Truly independent, and here's how
We don't ask you to take our word for it.
For dealers
A fourth source of stock, already inspected.
Every way you buy stock today costs you something before you've bought a car.
- Trade-ins only come in when a customer buys from you.
- The big buying groups already have their margin in the price you pay.
- Private listings mean driving out to look, or paying someone to, whether you buy the car or not.
What B4U adds
- Private cars, inspected before you see them: more than 120 checks, photographs and a report you can read in ninety seconds.
- Make your offer from your desk, against an independent report.
- No wasted trips. No renegotiating at collection.
- You buy directly from the seller, with no middleman's margin in the price.
- A flat finder's fee, only on cars you buy. No membership fee, nothing per listing.
